I found a site that has  a way to get ringtones for your G1 when you signup. They are unlimited, and they also can be directly downloaded, or sent through email as far as it looks.

Its amazing how G1 ringtones along with wallpapers are downloaded so much on the net. Wallpapers are one of the hotest item when you buy a new phone. i know when I got my new G1 i was wanting to get a wallpaper for it right away, and had issues trying to fit it on the screen. Then I realized that you need to have a certain size because of some issues with the G1 stretching out the Wallpaper.

Since i have bought my phone I have actually been a little disappointed with what it has done. It has not only been heavy, but I have been having issues with the battery life of the G1. It dies on me so fast. I am looking forward to the G2 coming out in a year or 2 as I have already read, and I think they will have gotten a lot of the glitches worked out.

Then I guess it will be time to find a new format of ringtones for that G2 as well.
