What is polyphasic sleep? Here is a simple description of it. Sleeping twice or more within the twenty-four hour period is referred to as the polyphasic sleep. However, one might find it almost impossible to sleep more than once or polyphasically, especially in these busy times. Still, it is highly advised that you find time to do so because a lot of people, most of them suffering from extreme tiredness, have attested to the benefits of taking a nap each day. In order for you to accomplish this, you need to establish a well-designed sleeping schedule. Some say that between two to four p.m. is a great time to be taking these power naps. During these times, your body experiences a certain temperature drop much similar to the one you experience at night which is exemplified by decrease in alertness and the like. Keep in mind though that polyphasic sleep disturbs the circadian rhythm of yours, this will result in the decrease of amount of sleep you will get at night.
