It is an unfortunate state of affairs that has overtaken this great country of ours. It used to be that that for someone to consider taking out a loan in order to make a purchase was out of the ordinary. This situation has changed completely. Nowadays almost everybody in society has some form of loans outstanding at any one point in time. A loan for 5000 is a comparatively small sum of money these days to borrow. It seems to me that people no longer consider in the first instance whether or not they really need to borrow the money whether or not it would be much more advisable to save up and wait until they have sufficient funds available in order to make whatever purchases that they are interested in making. As a result of this huge debt burden which we as a consumer society have taken on we find ourselves now in a position where our debts are literally dragging the economy down. the question we need to ask ourselves is how did we allow this situation to occur? What is it about the last 25 years that has allowed our attitude towards debt be completely changed? I don’t know the answer to this question I wonder even if it’s been asked in the right places.
